
What is a Support Line Volunteer?
A parent member willing to cover the phone lines on a number of evenings/weekends per month. These volunteers will often be the voice on the end of the phone our members hear when they reach out for support out of hours. They will be able to offer parent to parent insight into life with single ventricle heart disease and offer a listening ear in times of worry and stress. They will signpost to other support or information services and report back to the LHM service team.
Skillset needed;
- Empathetic approach
- Reassuring and supportive telephone manner
- Experience of life with a single ventricle heart condition
- Confident working alone
- Dedicated and dependable
- Clean enhanced DBS
