Important Notice Regarding the Beacon Data Breach
Last week, Beacon informed us that it had experienced a data breach. Beacon provides Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to more than 1,500 charities, including Little Hearts Matter.
We understand that this news may be concerning, and we want to reassure our members and everyone that supports us that we are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness. We are actively managing the situation, working closely with Beacon, and will continue to update you as we receive further information.
At this stage, we are working on the assumption that our member database may have been accessed. We began contacting members and supporters last week to ensure everyone is informed.
We are in regular contact with Beacon, who have identified the cause of the breach and implemented additional security measures to strengthen their systems. They are also monitoring the dark web for any evidence that information has been misused. At present, they have reported no indication that any Little Hearts Matter data has been used maliciously.
We recognise that this may be a worrying time, and we want to assure you that protecting our members’ and supporters’ information remains a top priority.
As a precaution, we recommend remaining vigilant and taking extra care with any unexpected emails, phone calls, or messages. Little Hearts Matter will never ask you for your passwords, bank details, or other sensitive financial information.
