Join Us as a Trustee | Volunteer Role • Remote • 3 Year Term

Little Hearts Matter is the only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting children born with single ventricle heart disease – a complex and lifelong condition with no cure. We walk alongside families from diagnosis, through surgery and treatment, and into life at home. Every year, around 600 families face this life‑changing news, and our support is more important than ever.

We are seeking committed and compassionate individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help guide our work into the future.

Why Become a Trustee?

As a trustee, you’ll play a key role in shaping the strategy, governance, and impact of a national charity supporting over 7,000 members. You’ll bring your experience, insight, and independent judgement to help us deliver vital services to families navigating some of the toughest moments of their lives.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference and be part of a values‑driven, supportive, and passionate organisation.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one of the following:
HR management, fundraising and income generation, volunteer management  or digital marketing and finance.

As a Trustee, you will:

  • Contribute to setting the charity’s strategic direction
  • Ensure strong governance, financial oversight, and long‑term sustainability
  • Support and constructively challenge the Chief Executive and senior team
  • Participate in Board and Committee meetings (mostly online)
  • Act as an ambassador for Little Hearts Matter

Uphold our values: caring, supportive, empowering, reliable, aspirational, representative, reactive
