What is a Youth Mentor?

An SVH adult member that volunteers to support our youth members aged 12-17. These volunteers will host monthly themed online youth groups on the LHM youth hub. They will be able to offer youth members support as an adult that has walked a path like theirs. Youth mentors will also work in some cases with youth members in a 1:2:1 setting (via message on the secure youth hub) to offer support and help rid the feeling of isolation. They will refer any worries to the service team.

Empathetic yet youthful approach
Reassuring and supportive manner via text
Experience of life with a single ventricle heart condition
Dedicated and dependable
Clean enhanced DBS
