What is a Bereaved Volunteer?

A bereaved parent member of LHM. This volunteer will have been bereaved for 5 years or more. They will be able to offer parent to parent insight into the loss of a child with single ventricle heart disease and offer ongoing support. They will represent the bereavement service LHM in memory events and offer guidance on bereavement publications and/or information.

Skillset needed;

Empathetic approach
Reassuring and supportive telephone manner
Medical experience of supporting life with a single ventricle heart condition
Confident working alone
Dedicated and dependable
Clean enhanced DBS
