Youth booklets

We’ve written various information booklets for you to help you understand your heart condition as well as about different areas of your life that you might need a bit more information on such as making career plans, relationships, and education support.

Living with anticoagulation

This booklet is to help you understand why anticoagulation is needed, how to manage it on a day-to-day basis, and what the potential risks are.

Sports and exercise

This booklet was written for parents, but it will also be useful for you. It gives overall guidance for leisure and school sports and exercise, and includes a chart which can be used to give an up-to-date personalised picture of what is safe for you.

Travel and trips

If you’re going away on holiday, for the weekend, or even going away for without your parents, this booklet will help you to plan what you need to do to make sure you have a great time and stay safe.

Information filofax

This is a plastic filofax which contains information on single ventricle heart conditions, possible treatments and lifestyle information. This can be added to as the charity produces more information.

Thomas pioneered an operation now known as the Blalock-Thomas-Taussig shunt. At the time, Thomas was disregarded because of racism and prejudice against his lack of an academic background, sadly it was not until the 1980’s that the procedure included his name. The procedure is still used to this day and has helped many of our members. Join us to celebrate this amazing man. ... See MoreSee Less
