A year later – March 2016, we decided that we wanted to raise money for Little Hearts Matter. LHM was our chosen charity as they provided us with great support during the time we had with Israel.
Our beautiful baby boy – Israel, known to many as ‘Izzy’ was born on November 28th 2012 at 15:54 at Birmingham Women’s Hospital. During my pregnancy Israel was identified to have HLHS.
When Israel was born he had two rounds of open heart surgery and done very well following both.
He was a happy, vibrant, loving and active child who enjoyed every day of his short life. He went to nursery 2.5 days a week and excelled in all that he did. Israel was known for his radiating smile which lit up the whole room.
On 22nd March 2014, Israel suddenly became unwell and left us for his heavenly home.
In March 2015, we marked the day with a tree planting ceremony in our garden with family and friends.
A year later – March 2016, we decided that we wanted to raise money for Little Hearts Matter. LHM was our chosen charity as they provided us with great support during the time we had with Israel. Myself and Daniel had never been involved in nor organised anything like this before. We decided to complete a charity walk/run in our local nature reserve and get as many of our family and friends involved as possible. We had a great turnout and we managed to get sponsors who willingly donated and raised an awareness of the charity at the same time. We also asked ‘Rhythm Time’ to help us in our fundraising as that was Israel’s favourite baby group. We had a target of £1,000 and managed to raise £5,600.
We are so thankful to everyone that supported us in supporting Little Hearts Matter.
