Mary’s son, Todd, only has half a working heart.
Todd’s family wanted to raise lots of money for Little Hearts Matter and the British Heart Foundation so they organised an afternoon tea for friends and family in their local village hall. As well as an abundance of sandwiches and cakes, they held a charity auction and raffle with all prizes being donated from local businesses and contacts. Prizes included Disney tickets, vine yard and brewery tours, Michelin star restaurant meals and toys such as children’s bikes. The event was a huge success; so much so that they ran out of raffle tickets! In total they raised over £3700 which will support other families requiring support when raising a child with a single ventricle heart condition, as well as support vital research for developments in treating congenital heart disease.
