A few days later we were back for a specialist scan and we found out she had Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).
This year, Kim from Little Lodge Confectionery will be donating a % of their Christmas profits to Little Hearts Matter. Below, Kim shares her story.
‘In 2012, after 2 years of trying, we found out we were pregnant with our 1st child. At our 20 week scan a problem was picked up with our daughters heart. A few days later we were back for a specialist scan and we found out she had Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). We were rushed to Liverpool Women’s Hospital the next morning for more scans. It was at this point we were told that there were also problems with the half that was there.
She kept fighting for another few weeks, but was born sleeping on 15th July 2012. We named her Sophia.
We have gone on to have a son named Max, who my business, Little Lodge, is named after. He is now 5.’
We’d like to thank Kim for so kindly thinking of us. As well as donating a % of profits to LHM, she will also be holding a large raffle and have donation tins set up on her stalls. Thank you, Kim. x
