Great British Sewing Bee contestant creates exclusive tutorial for Little Hearts Matter

Angeline Murphy, a Great British Sewing Bee contestant in 2016, has produced an exclusive tutorial for the heart charity Little Hearts Matter (LHM) for their Handmade Hearts fundraiser.

Little Hearts Matter is a small national UK charity that supports families when their baby is diagnosed with half a working heart. The charity’s Handmade Hearts fundraiser is one of the largest fundraising events for children with half a working heart.

Handmade Hearts is a month long initiative that runs in October where members and supporters get creative by making, baking, sewing and selling heart-themed items. The initiative sees crafty fundraisers featuring a range of items such as cakes, keyrings, cushions and many more for sale. The proceeds are then donated to LHM.

Angeline has created this special tutorial, a handmade heart ornament, to encourage everyone to get involved with fundraising for LHM and to raise awareness for this rare condition.

Angeline began designing and sewing in her spare time for over 10 years, before entering the Great British Sewing Bee last year. Through impressing the judges with her fitting and finishing skills, she won two garments of the week on the show. Since then, Angeline has continued her passion for sewing and is committed to encouraging women to pick up their sewing machines and create garments for themselves. She currently runs her own sewing class series in Ireland and has a blog and website where she shares her creations and updates on her activities.
