We know that for families with children with half a heart that Every Christmas Matters.
There is currently no cure for single ventricle heart conditions and families live daily with the worries that come with that. As Jacob’s mum Mel puts it:
Christmas is a time for spending time with families and friends, but when you have a child with half a heart, you have to put on a show for everyone, but just because it’s Christmas it doesn’t mean the feelings go away.
Little Hearts Matter provides a “blanket of comfort” when they need it most to our members by providing them with access to professional advice and expertise as well as a network of families going through the same experiences. As Mel says:
People don’t understand, the only people who understand are Little Hearts Matter and other parents of kids with half a heart. I’d be lost without them, especially at Christmas.
So, this Christmas, we are trying to raise £5,000 so there’s always someone there for families like Mel’s when they need it most.
To donate and help Little Hearts Matter this Christmas, text LHMX18 £10 to 70070 to donate £10 (or replace the 10 with however much you’d like to donate) or visit www.justgiving.com/campaign/every-christmas-matters and help us to make a difference for the children with half a heart and their families.
