Charity places

Little Hearts Matter has guaranteed charity places in the events below. There is a minimum sponsorship target of £100 for 10K runs and we will be there with you every step of the way to help you reach your target.

Run for LHM and we will:

  • Provide you with your very own LHM running vest
  • Assist you with your training
  • Help you smash your fundraising target with LHM fundraising resources and advice

Edinburgh Marathon Festival 10K 2019

25 May 2019 Edinburgh

The 10K falls on the Saturday of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival weekend and runs through the stunning surroundings of Holyrood Park. Starting and finishing near Dynamic Earth, this route offers striking panoramic views of the city and Edinburgh Castle.

Bournemouth Supersonic 10K 2019

5 October 2019, 4pm Bournemouth

The Supersonic 10K is a fantastic flat and fast course, great for setting a quick time or for a chance to take in the stunning Bournemouth coastline at your own pace. The Supersonic 10K route allows runners the rare opportunity to run along the iconic Bournemouth Pier, before finishing in the gorgeous Lower Gardens for a well-deserved ice cream!

Scottish 10K 2019

22 September 2019 Edinburgh

Pancake flat & picturesque – the perfect 10K! You will follow the final section of the seriously flat and rapid Scottish Half Marathon route and run along the magnificent Golf Coast before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse, Scotland’s oldest racecourse.

Choose your own event

Can’t see a run you like, or want to take part in an event local to you? You can still fundraise for LHM! Choose any run you like, apply for your place directly with the organisers and then let us know so we can cheer you on through your training and support your fundraising.

There is no minimum sponsorship target for own place runners, just raise as much as you can!

Great North 10K 2019

7 July 2019 Gateshead

The popular North East running event will return to Gateshead in July 2019, where thousands of participants will finish inside the iconic Gateshead International Stadium. The scenic route takes in sights along the Newcastle-Gateshead Quayside, including Sage Gateshead, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

Great Birmingham 10K 2019

If music is your motivator, the Great Birmingham 10k is the perfect event for you.  Strut your stuff across the start line to the most popular tunes from the 70s, 80s, 90s or present day, then hit the streets to your favourite music for an electric party atmosphere that will keep you going as you walk, jog, run – or even dance – all the way to the finish line!

Great Manchester 10K 2019

Take in the views of Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium, the award-winning Imperial War Museum and The Lowry. You will also pass the famous cobbles of Coronation Street’s new set. The course is lined with supporters and bands to cheer you on to the finish line!

The course will take you under the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge with spectacular views along the Avon Gorge before entering the city centre. With an electric atmosphere and famous Bristol welcome, your journey to the finish line will be truly special!

Newport Wales 10K 2019

The 2019 ABP Newport Wales 10K will take place on Sunday 5th May 2019.

The 10K race adds an exciting extra dimension to the inaugural ABP Newport Wales Marathon, giving runners of all abilities the chance to be a part of one of Wales’ largest weekends of running – without having to complete the challenging marathon distance.

    Children with half a working heart catch colds and coughs just like other children of the same age but of course when you already have a reduced energy level and less oxygen travelling around your body it can knock the children for six. Parents may notice that their child is a bit more cyanosed, a bit bluer, and that they may be a bit more breathless than normal. Keep the children well wrapped up and snug and warm, give them Calpol if their temperature is high, keep the fluids going, small amounts of nourishing food every couple of hours and lots of opportunity to sleep will all help a child recover. HOWEVER, if they have a high temperature for a couple of days or their breathlessness or colour becomes worse take them to the GP for a check-up. If the infection is Viral there will be no point in antibiotics but if the GP thinks antibiotics will help they will be prescribed.
