Over the next month the LHM team will be contacting members directly, by post or email, to update them on new rules set by the Charity Commission on how charities can contact their members. We will be asking our members to give us permission to use their email or full address to keep them up to date with charity news and events, in the same way we have always done in the past.
Over the last year a few charities have had issues over the way they have used their members’ data, this is why the rules have now changed. We have to ask you formally to sign up for LHM contact. Our new membership registration includes tick boxes on the form, but our well established members have not given us specific permission.
Even if you don’t tick the box members will still be able to contact us for support or information and if they ask we will always put booklets in the post but we will not be able to send out charity news in the same way without your permission.
We promise we will not be selling or passing on your data to any other organisations. Permission will just allow us to contact you.
There are two ways that you can tick the box for contact.
Complete the form that will be sent to you in the post and return it to us in the envelope provided.
