Discovering that your baby has a complicated heart problem is extremely
stressful and frightening for most parents. Trying to understand what the
problem is, what all the unfamiliar terms mean and what the treatment
options are, leaves many parents confused and worried.
Children born with only one of their heart pumps (Single Ventricle) or with
blocked heart valves face many operations. They also require long-term
medication and may face some restrictions as they grow through their
childhood.
This section of the site has been written to try and help answer some of the
questions that parents ask. It does not replace the need to talk to the
medical and nursing staff that are caring for your child, but hopefully it will
complement their advice.
If, having read the information within the site, you feel that it would be useful to have further
information please call:
Little Hearts Matter on the office helpline 0121 455 8982.
