Hi I'm Bev, married to Steve and mum of 5. Lucy is my heart child and is 10 years old. She was born with very complex CHD including a hypoplastic left ventricle. She was treated at Southampton General under the wonderful care of Mr Marcus Haw. Lucy underwent two of the three stage repairs; at 2 days and 5 months old. We always knew that there was a possibility that she wouldn't be suitable for the Fontan because of her complicated heart. In 2005 we found that the only way forward for her would be for her to have a heart transplant. She went onto the register and waited 8 months to receive her transplant.

Bev & Lucy She is currently doing extremely well and enjoying life to the full. My photo shows us both waiting to hear if the transplant was going ahead.
